Sclerotherapy: The health insurance covers the treatment of three sections of varicose veins using one ampule of sclerosing agent. For larger areas, any additional treatment beyond what is covered by health insurance is paid for directly by the patient.
VenaSeal method: This newer method involves injecting a small amount of certified medical adhesive into the varicose vein, effectively sealing the damaged vein and redirecting blood to adjacent healthy veins. The procedure is performed through a single puncture using a special catheter and under ultrasound guidance, allowing precise placement of the adhesive material. Post-procedure, it is not necessary to use compression stockings. The risk of damage to peripheral nerves is completely excluded, and there may be a small chance of an allergic reaction to the treatment. The cost of the procedure is 35,000 CZK for one limb.
